I get fresh basil from the Farmer''s Market and here''s my pesto recipe! You do need a food processor for this.
*2 cups packed fresh basil leaves
*2/3 cup virgin olive oil
*1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts (or pecans, or pine nuts, or sunflower seeds, or yes! pistachios)
*1/2 cup Romano & Parmesan cheese(
*Freshly ground pepper and about 1/2 teaspoon salt
*Three cloves of fresh garlic
Place basil in food processor and add oil slowly while the food processor is running. Add the rest of the ingredients and purée until smooth. That''s all there is too it!
This is served mixed with pasta, but you can spread it on bread or put it on steamed vegetables!

| Fresh Peach Pie! |
Here''s a wonderful, EASY recipe for fresh peach pie:
Mix:
* 1 cup sugar
*5 tablespoons flour
*1 teaspoon cinnamon
Add:
4 1/2 cups peeled, sliced fresh peaches.
Mix together and place in crust of your choice. Dot with 1 1/2 tablespoons butter, seal with top crust. Sprinkle sugar on top of crust. Bake at a 400 degree oven for 45 to 50 minutes.
Peaches will be juicy so be sure to cut several vents in the crust. This is absolutely the best peach pie you will eat!

| MANDALAS |
What are those art pictures in your gallery? You are asking yourself. They are pictures of my artwork, called "mandalas." It''s a Sanskrit word meaning "circle" and they are intended to represent chakra energy, meditation themes, or to shield us from negative energy from every day life.
The media is actually stitching on mesh fabric using a hoop, but is classified as a weaving. Go figure.
Anyway, these circles are 10 inches in diameter and can be framed, sewn onto pillows, whatever. These particular pieces are sewn onto stretched vintage flour sacks from the 1950''s and then framed.
They are available to PURCHASE... and are reasonable!

| New Recipe!!! EASY Raspberry Syrup |
You will love this easy recipe for raspberry syrup! It''s simply:
2 cups picked, washed raspberries. (Frozen okay!)
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup water
Simply boil all ingredients together for ten minutes, stirring constantly as not to burn syrup! Strain seeds through a tea strainer and you have syrup! It will gel pretty thick when chilled, so to make thinner syrup add just a bit more water. It''s really good over ice cream! It also works with BLUEBERRIES, too! | |
| Ted's Cake Mix Cookie Recipe! |
Here's the recipe for great tasting and easy cookies:
Simply take any cake mix (except Angel Food) and add two eggs, 1/2 cup of oil and a tablespoon of flour.
Mix together, add your favorite ingredients whether it be chocolate chips, coconut, dried fruits, nuts or whatever. Some times, the more exotic the add-ins and the stranger the cake mix, the better they are!
Bake at 350 degree oven for just 10 minutes.

| BIRD SEED EGGS! (To Feed the birds!) |
*1/3 cup unflavored gelatin
*1 1/2 cups water
*8 1/3 cups birdseed
*About 40 fillable Easter eggs
*vegetable spray
You simply pour the water and gelatin in a large pan and dissolve gelatin. Add the seed, pack and fill the vegetable oil-coated eggs with the {rather wet!} mixture and close. Chill in fridge until set, then let dry three days in the molds. They unmold easily! Place in egg carton and give to your friends... Feathered friends, that is! | |
